Not The Mama

I had a dream last night that Janssen and I had a baby. He was a cute little boy and I was really happy to have him.

But then the dream kind of morphed into another dream, and Janssen changed into a not-so-good-looking woman, and she and I were expecting a new baby and I was terrified that it would be ugly.

I don't sit around all day thinking our babies need to be really cute or anything, so I'm not sure where this dream came from and why I was so disturbed. I think my distress was in part due to the fact that Janssen had really changed into someone else entirely (someone we know), and I wasn't happy about the switch.

Ummm... I don't really think you have anything to worry about. there's no way any kid of yours and Janssen's will not be cute. Plus, all kids are cute. I don't know what to say about the other part... I hope the person you know doesn't read your blog :)

Yeah, let the guessing game begin. Let's see someone who is ugly and has unruly children...hmmm. The obvious choice would be Ralphie, but then again she isn't ugly, nor does she have unruly children. I'm stumped!

Ha that's exactly what I thought. Who is the "less attractive" acquaintance of yours?

Wow, that's so fascinating. You can't say who it was not only because you dreamed you were married to her but also because you don't want her to feel bad.

But maybe the two cancel out . . .

@Megan: Thanks. I agree that all kids are cute. Not sure I was so worried about. As for the not-so-good-looking acquaintance, I really doubt she reads my blog (or even knows I have a blog), and even more importantly, nobody will ever know her identity, so it doesn't matter.

@Kristi: You're right - Ralphie and Brian make beautiful babies, so we can safely rule Ralphie out. You and Blaine do too, so you're ruled out. Hmmm. Guess you'll stay stumped. Lol.

@Lisa C: Hey Lisa! Sorry to not be able to tell. Don't think you know her, though . . .

@Doug: I don't think the two would cancel out. I'll play it safe by never mentioning who it was. Ever.

I know you're too wise to do that. If it were otherwise I wouldn't risk teasing you.

How funny. Isn't is weird how dreams can seem so real, be upsetting, and put in people who we might otherwise never even think about. Even if you should even remotely have "ugly" children, you and the grandparents will love them anyway. Really, the only ugly children are those that act ugly - it isn't what they look like.

Update: Bah. A few months later I've completely forgotten who it was. Maybe that's a good thing.
